Yves Saint Laurent Shoes is named after the French fashion designer Yves Henri Donat Mathieu-Saint-Laurent. Saint Laurent left home at age 17 to work for another famous fashion designer Christian Dior. After Dior died in 1957, Saint Laurent was put in charge of saving the Dior house from financial trouble. After a tumultuous time in the army and in the hospital, Saint Laurent was released and started his own label of YSL along with Pierre Berge.
